Looking to improve transitions from ladders to workspace locations? The latest addition to our ladder safety product line is here: The Apex Ladder Anchor Post. A spring-assisted extending anchor post, it is designed to allow users to remain tied off while transitioning from their ladder to their next anchor point or protected work zone. Ideal for covered ladders such as manhole and hatch applications, these retractable anchor posts provide users both anchorage and handholds to facilitate an easier switch from ladder to workspace. The APEX is a permanent attachment for locations where a hatch or vault door is at the top of the ladder. Able to be raised and lowered with ease, the APEX can provide a retractable anchor point in areas with limited available space.
The APEX is more than just a means to aid in transitioning from a ladder to a workspace. Built for personal fall arrest applications, the Apex system is rated to 5,000lbs while fully extended, with the security pin in place. The APEX is a great choice for many work locations, made for tough environments such as water treatment plants, mines, and rooftops. Anywhere that has workers transitioning from a ladder climbing system to an elevated workspace can benefit from the added safety of the APEX system.
This makes the APEX a standout piece in the fall protection industry. More than just a means of making ladder transitions easier, the APEX is a fully capable fall protection device. Users can connect to one of the two poles and have the added protection of a secure anchor point.
The APEX ladder anchor post is made for use on fixed ladders. With how many different ladder designs there are, we packed the APEX with three sets of attachment brackets. Compatible with Round Tube Rails, Flat Bar Rails, and Channel Rail Ladders, the APEX system can fit to most ladders.
Unlike other ladder-mounted posts, the APEX is a spring-assisted system. This allows it to be raised and lowered with only one hand, and to ensure the post moves smoothly with plenty of control.
An upcoming change in the world of fall protection are the new requirements for ladder safety systems. Starting November 19, 2036, all fixed ladders taller than 24 feet will need to have either a ladder safety system or a personal fall arrest system. The APEX is a great option to include when installing vertical climbing systems to prepare for these regulation changes.
The APEX system comes in pairs, one left and one right. It is designed to give users more options for safely getting on and off of a fixed ladder. In the event that only one APEX post is installed, it will still be compliant. The value of having two extended handholds is something that greatly improves workplace safety.
When using the APEX system, users only need to connect to one post.
Each post weighs 19lbs, making the system easy to carry and install.
The APEX system comes with mounting brackets included. Installation only requires basic tools and on some ladder types equipment to drill holes for the mounting brackets. The included brackets allow the APEX to be installed on most fixed ladders.
The APEX is only a safe anchor-point when raised with both the locking pin and cam handle in the closed position. Once it is secured in place it is a safe connection point.
