OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down is a voluntary event for employers to directly talk to employees about fall prevention and fall hazards in the workplace. Visit OSHA’s website for more details.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, falls are consistently the leading cause of injury and death in the construction industry year over year. Falls accounted for 351 of the 1,008 construction fatalities recorded in 2020 (BLS data).

Take a break and have a toolbox talk with your workers. Discuss the importance of fall protection in the workplace, and propose suggestions to your employers on how to keep your team safe.
